I was recently reminded of this UFO footage from May 2009. It was captured over Mexico City by Alfredo Carrillo and Pedro Hernandez, and was featured on Mexican ufologist Jaime Maussan’s popular UFO show.

Now, Mr. Maussan is by many considered to be a hoaxer who never seems able to produce proof when asked. The raw footage of this sighting has, to my knowledge, never been made available for closer inspection.

So, what can we say about this video one and a half year later? Has anyone come up with a plausible explanation or made a proper analysis of the footage? Some say we’re seeing balloons on a string, while others claim the video to be nothing more than a masterfully executed CGI production.

Are we witnessing the real deal here or is this simply a hoax that deserve to be forgotten? What do you think? (The actual UFO footage starts at 01:05.)
